In 1974, after the success of the Hydrogen Peroxide Rocket Powered Systems for Jack McClure and  Larry Welch, Arvil was approached by Russell Mendez.

Russell asked Arvil to build the Rocket System for a Peroxide Powered Dragster with a 5000 lbs. thrust. For Arvil it was a big challenge because he never built a rocket engine of this power. He made all the calculations and built the rocket system.

This was one of the first rocket powered cars to appear in the NHRA, IHRA drag strips. This rocket car toured all the US and Mexico in racing exhibitions. This was a test run with Arvil standing at the right.

This is the view of two of the rocket systems built by Arvil, the rocket kart and the rocket car of Mendez , here also in Mexico City in 1975. Behind the rocket kart is the rocket car of Russell Mendez with a Mexican trophy inside?

The 300 mph. car in this picture was shown in Mexico City on 26 May, 1975.
