Before the rockets systems, he built other wild and popular racing vehicles like the alcohol fuel injected V8 drag bike. That was a great crowd pleaser. It would leave the starting line enveloped in a big cloud of smoke!
After doing research at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Arvil started building Hydrogen Peroxide rocket powered vehicles.

Arvil's first rocket system was for Jack McClure's rocket powered go kart. The go kart obtained speeds of more than 220 mph in the quarter mile! (this is the vehicle that most impressed me when I saw it in Mexico City with the larger 1500 lbs thrust rocket engine)

Next he built a rocket powered drag bike for Larry Welch. This beautiful show bike would run up to 200 mph in the quarter mile.

After the success of theses two vehicles Arvil was approached by Russell Mendez to build a rocket system for rocket dragster having a thrust of 5,000 lbs. Arvil built it and it was a success also!

Then Arvil designed and built a rocket powered drag bike for his personal use. Sadly this bike was stolen and never seen again, he only got to ride it a few times.
Then Larry Welch ordered two more larger and more powerful rocket engines for a new drag bike. Arvil built him a new frame for this bike. Larry never finished with his project and a new deal was made for the rocket engines to be installed on drag bike for John Dixon. The two rocket engines produced a total thrust of 2500 lbs. John ran over 230 mph in the quarter mile using only 75% of the power!
Jack McClure wanted more power for his rocket go kart too, so he asked Arvil to build a rocket engine having a thrust of 1500 lbs. This would allow him to go well over 200 mph in the quarter mile.
Just after that, Russell Mendez wanted more power for his rocker powered dragster. Arvil designed and built a rocket system having a thrust of 6,000 lbs. This rocket system increased the rocket dragster speeds to over 300 mph in the quarter mile. Arvil is also in the processes of building a flying Rocket Belt similar to the Bell Rocket Belt, so maybe in the future you will see a Floridian fly over your roof tops without an airplane.
Now Arvil and I are building two identical rocket powered drag bikes. Arvil is making the frames, and we will each build our own rocket systems for the bikes. When we are finished building the bikes we meet to will race and see who has to buy dinner.
Can you imagine the sound of four rocket engines running at the same time? You will be invited to the race, and all progress on the two bikes will be posted here.
If you want a rocket
system, small or large , for your dream vehicle ask Arvil. I am sure he can
design and build you one that will get the job done!
If you want a very fast custom built Private Aircraft, Arvil designs and builds two place and four place airplanes that out perform most planes in their class. (No Surprise!)
